Located only 10 kms from Gérardmer in the Vosges, the 3-star La Sténiole campsite gives you an opportunity to enjoy a holiday in the natural environment in Lorraine. At an altitude of 700 metres, you can take advantage of the tranquillity in the land of daffodils, pine trees, streams and waterfalls. All this on 20 hectares deep in the Vosges forest, with a lake for swimming, an angling area and numerous other activities for young and old!
La Sténiole is open all year, with pitches or rentals. The vast green pitches are open from April to October. Rentals (apartment, studio flat, mobile home, caravan) are available all year (except the caravan) and can cater for a maximum of 6 people. For an even more convivial atmosphere (and because the campsite lies at an altitude of 700 metres!), campfires and barbecues are permitted on the pitches except during periods of drought.
The campsite is also ideal as a centre from which to explore a region full of different activities and heritage locations. Among the best-known is Gérardmer of course, the Pearl of the Vosges, only 10 kms from the campsite with numerous water sports etc. on its lake in summer and its famous ski resort in winter. In the summer months, the “Valley of Lakes” in the Ballons des Vosges Country Park provides some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in Lorraine. Definitely not to be missed!

Very quiet and peaceful; a lovely forested and rural site; very clean and new toilet /washing block - pristine.
Very helpful owners - friendly and keen to help.
Only the fact that that the new wash block was shared by males and females - would have preferred seperate facilities.

The region, the camping sites and the fact that it was possible to have a campfire. The showers were new and clean and with lots of hot water. Super! I will definitely come again with my family.
I didn't like the surprise Euro 15 fee for online reservation. I found that much too high - more than one night's accomodation.
I would enjoy some planned activities for kids - so that they can mix and play together.
